Bhubaneswar, Dec 10: Schools across the State are likely to reopen from New Year if improvement in the Covid-19 situation persists in coming days, informed School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash here today.
“Looking at the present situation, schools are likely to reopen from January. We will emphasize on resuming physical teaching in Classes X to and VII in first phase,” the Minister told mediapersons.
He said plans are afoot to hold classes on Saturdays and Sundays. Examinations will be conducted after physical classes are held for 100 days. Around 6 lakh students will appear in the High School Certificate (HSC) Examinations, he said.
He said each student will be given a question bank well before the Board exam in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.
