Bhubaneswar, Feb 27: The Odisha government has decided to set up Science Parks in all the 30 districts of the State, said Science and Technology Minister Ashok Chandra Panda in the State Assembly on Saturday.
Replying to question in the Assembly, the Minister said that the Science Parks will be opened in the 10 districts of Ganjam, Nayagarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Koraput, Bhadrak, Puri, Balangir, Sundargarh and Jagatsinghpur in the first phase and the rest will be completed in next phase.
It will take around 30 months for construction of a Science Park, he added.
The State Government will bear all the expenses of the Science Parks where as the local civic bodies will take charge of the maintenance of these parks, the Minister said.
Currently, two planetariums are functional in the State and four new planetariums will be set up at Baripada, Keonjhar, Gopalpur and Rayagada, said the Minister adding that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has laid foundation stone for a planetarium in Rourkela.
