Paralakhemundi, Apr 12: The Gajapati district administration in Odisha has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC in Jajpur village under Paralakhemundi police limits in the district for next 10 days starting from today during the famous ‘Maa Nakti Bhawani Thakurani Yatra’, officials said on Monday.
The 144 regulation will remain in force in the village from today to 6pm on April 21 to prevent the congregation of devotees during the yatra of Goddess Nakti Bhawani in the wake of Coronavirus pandemic, they added.
“There is a possibility of a congregation of thousands of devotees in Jajpur village during the 10-day long yatra of Goddess Nakti Bhawani. We will not allow devotees to gather in the village due to COVID situation. Only the priests and other servitors will be allowed to hold all the rituals on during the festival,” a senior official said.
Extensive security arrangements will be put in place in and around the village till April 21, he added.
