Bhadrak, Feb 21: Police rescued at least three women and arrested two men after busting a sex racket which was running in a rented house in Dagamunda area under Bhadrak Town Police Station on Saturday night.
Interestingly, one of the rescued women is said to be a former woman Home Guard of Police Department.
The raid was conducted after the Town Police received a number of complaints from locals against the occupants of a three storey house located in Dagamunda area in past couple of weeks. Locals claimed that a sex racket was running inside the house.
After putting the house on its radar, a police team raided the house late last night and detained four women and two men at the spot. Later as they failed to justify their gathering in the house police took the men duo into custody.
“We had lodged a complaint to Town Police against the occupants of this house who have taken it on rent around 15 days ago. Every night a number of men were visiting the place and their movement was suspicious. A thorough investigation will reveal the truth,” said a local resident post the raid.
On the other hand one of the woman rescued from the spot had rubbished her involvement in the sex racket. She claimed of visiting the house of the former woman Home Guard’s house to attend the meeting of an NGO.
