One of the two accused persons has been identified as Debendra Behera.
According to the information, the victim, Sanjay Behera, was washing his hands after having breakfast in the morning when Debendra hacked him on the head from backside with a dagger following a verbal spat over land and properties ensued between them. Sanjay's stepmother also attacked him at the same time with a machete.
Sanjay sustained critical injuries and was immediately rushed to the Balipatna Group Health Center. He was later shifted to the Capital Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
On being informed, the Balipatna police reached the spot and arrested both the accused persons. Further investigations are on, said the police.
