According to information, a team led by Kendrapada Excise Department officer Kalandi Behera conducted raids on the house of a person after being tipped off by a reliable person. Over a hundred of bottles levelled as MacDowell No.1 Original were seized. Besides, corks, which are used for sealing bottles were seized.
The arrested person told the Argus News that a man named Tikia of Aul was preparing liquor in his house.
Notably, a woman had been arrested from Aul yesterday on the charged of carrying and trading brown sugar.
“We have already initiated efforts to stop trade of contraband items. More raids will be conducted and stringent action will be taken against culprits,” said Behera.
