Bhubaneswar, Feb 21: The Odisha Government on Sunday asked all district Collectors, SPs and municipal Commissioners to ensure strict implementation of Covid 19 safety guidelines in view of fresh spike in number of Covid infections in some States in India.
As per the order issued by Special Relief Commissioner Pradeep Jena, any person found with Covid 19 symptoms must immediately be reported to the nearest health institution and necessary further action be taken as per advice of the health authorities.
“District and police authorities shall check and ensure strict observance of Covid 19 safety protocols such as mandatory wearing of mask and maintaining physical distancing at all public places, including workplaces and educational institutions,” said the order.
It also directed that public awareness through loudspeaker announcements should be made frequently in all market places, haat and other places.
Large congregations must be avoided. Permissions granted for marriages, other social/ religious functions, sports, entertainment/academic/ cultural/any other gathering/congregations should be executed in strict compliance of Covid 19 safety protocols. Crowd size should be strictly monitored, it said.
Nothing other than the curricular activities shall be allowed in educational institutions, it said.
