Konark, Apr 26: Police sealed the building housing State Bank of India, Konark branch on Monday after three of its staffs including a Manager were tested positive for Covid-19.
As per the report, the Branch Manager of the bank and two subordinate staffs developed Covid-19 symptoms on Saturday and their swabs were tested positive for Corona on Sunday.
After sealing of the branch till further order by police, the local administration sent swabs of other employees of the bank for test to the local Community Health Centre (CHC). Sanitization of the branch premise is also being undertaken to make it safe for customer as well as staff.
However, local residents have left in a lurch after detection of Covid-19 patient in the SBI as the staff of Canara bank branch located nearby have stopped coming to office in fear of infection.
Closure of both the banks post weekend shutdown for Covid-19 have added to the plights of those who are in an urgent need of bank transactions, says report.
