According to information, a house surgeon had yesterday asked a nurse to conduct a diabetic test of a patient who was under his treatment. However, the nurse, who was on duty then, didn’t take sample for test. This led to a fight between two associations, MKCG MCH Nurse Association and House Surgeon Association.
While house surgeons lodged a complaint with the Medical Superintendent, nurses too went to the office and registered their protest. The situation became such that both nurses and doctors resorted to cease-work agitation, while insisting on their respective demands.
Reports said nurses staged a protest in front of the Superintendent’s office for hours. As a result patients faced problems in getting health services.
On the other hand, the house surges too didn’t turn up to their departments. They insisted that stringent action be taken against the errant nurse.
Called by medical authorities, the Baidyanathpur police have reached the spot and are trying to pacify the situation. Discussions are now being held to end the chaotic situation.
