Like last year, Suna Besha (Gold attire) of Lord Jagannath and his siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra was conducted on their respective Raths, Nandighosh, Taladhwaja and Debadalana without participation of devotees today.
Puri, Jul 21: Like last year, Suna Besha (Gold attire) of Lord Jagannath and his siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra was conducted on their respective Raths,- Nandighosh, Taladhwaja and Debadalana- without participation of devotees today.
The Trinity glittered with gold ornaments till late in the evening. Ornaments include Shreepayar, Shrebhuja, Crowns and Kundals. The Trinity together were adorned with gold ornaments weighing 2.8 quintals.
While weight of Lord Jagannath’s crown is 610 tola, crowns of Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra weigh 434 tola and 234 tola, respectively. The Shreepayar and Shreebhuja of Lord Jagannath weigh 810 tola and Lord Balabhadra’s 710 Tola.
Even as devotees were debarred from having direct Darshan of the Trinity in view of Covid19 pandemic, they could watch the entire programme live on TVs.
The Trinity had returned from Shree Gundicha Temple in Bahuda Yatra yesterday. Aadhaar Pana niti will be conducted tomorrow.
