Malkangiri, Jul 18: Two Maoists including a woman activist of the banned CPI (Maoist) outfit surrendered before the Odisha DGP Abhay here on Sunday.
Rame Podiami alias Sabita, an area committee member of Pallachalam LOS Commander, and Raidhar Dhurua, PM of Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee (DKSZC) being dissatisfied with the Maoist leadership and attracted by the Surrender and Rehabilitation Policy of Odisha government surrendered before DGP here, police said.
Several criminal cases are pending against Sabita and Raidhar in different police stations in the State.
The surrendered Maoists will be provided monetary assistance as per Surrender and Rehabilitation Scheme of Government of Odisha and financial assistance for building a house, pursuing studies and training in a trade/vocation of their liking, they added.
The DGP has appealed the leftist extremists to surrender and benefit from the State Government's rehabilitation policy.
