Bhubaneswar, April 2: Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, who is on a two-day visit to Odisha, arrived at Bhubaneswar today.
After landing at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in a special aircraft at around 11.15 am Naidu was given a rousing welcome by Governor Professor Ganeshi Lal and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Naidu was drove to the Raj Bhawan from airport upon his arrival to have his scheduled lunch.
After spending a few hours at the Raj Bhawan the Vice President will head to Sarala Bhawan in Cuttack to inaugurate the 600th birth anniversary celebrations of Adi Kabi Sarala Das at around 5.20 pm.
After returning to Raj Bhawan from Cuttack today and spending a night, he will attend the 50th convocation of Utkal University as the chief guest tomorrow. After having his lunch at around 4.40 pm at Raj Bhawan he will return to New Delhi in a Special IAF flight at around 5 pm.
The Commissionerate Police has made elaborate security arrangements according to the ‘Blue Book’ guidelines for the Vice President’s visit to Odisha. Around 40 platoons of police force have been engaged on duty in the Twin City.
