The held accused has been identified as Biswajit Pattnaik, a resident of Ghateswarpur village under Delang Police Station of Puri.
Based on a tip-off on the Pangolin scales deal, a joint team of STF and Bhuaneswar city forest officials carried out a raid on a public road in between Dhauli Chhak to Dhauli and detained Biswajit.
As the he could not produce any authority in support of the possession of the Pangolin Scales, the officials handed over him to DFO City Forest Officials for necessary legal action and further investigation is underway.
Worth mentioning, the STF is continuing with its special drive against the wildlife criminals and poachers in the State. 26 leopard skins, 15 elephant tasks, 7 deer skins, 11 pangolins, 23.5 kg of pangolin scales, 2 leopard teeth, 29 of leopard claws, 46 live wild parrots.
Similarly, a total of 61 wildlife criminals have been arrested in connection with different cases so far.
