As per the report, the victim identified as Mamita Bhuyan had been to collect firewood from a forested area located near the village on Saturday when the mishap took place.
While collecting firewood, a bullet fired by Jagannath Bhuyan and a group of his associates, who were on a hunting spree in the same jungle, hit her.
Though, the accused hunter took the victim to his house in a critical condition to treat with traditional medicines to conceal the whole incident, her father Durlabh Karji along with a few relatives from Dabuthali village rushed to the spot to rescue her.
However, a dispute occurred between the two sides after Jagannath and his aides refused to hand over Mamita to Durlabh and threatened him of dire consequences.
Later, a police case was lodged by Durlabh against Jagannath and 10 others at Jarada Police Station in connection with the case.
Mamita who happens to a mother of four children, with the youngest one being only four-month-old, her family has raised concern over his health condition and demanded swift action by police for her rescue.
