Woman discovered dead inside bush, critically hurt minor found lying nearby

Kendrapara, Jun 26: Mystery shrouded the death of a woman whose body was found lying near a bush on the roadside in Kandarapatia village under Jambu Marine Police Station in Kendrapara district on Saturday.

A 4-5 year old boy, suspected to be the son of the deceased, was also found in critical condition a few yards away from the spot.

The murder came to fore in the morning hours today after some commuters came across the body and called up local police.

Locals also rescued the minor boy, who was spotted with grievous face injury, and rushed him to Kendrapara District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in an ambulance for treatment.

Police sent the body for autopsy after reaching the spot of late. They also seized a towel which was seen to be tied around the neck of the deceased, a mangalsutra, a few liquor bottles and a pair of hand gloves were also found near the spot for forensic tests.

An investigation has been launched by police to trace the accused behind the heinous act.
