Berhampur, Feb 22: A married woman has hung herself to death in Kushapalli village under Buguda police limits in Ganjam district on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Laxmi Gouda, wife of Tukuna Gouda of the same locality.
As per the report, Tukuna who had married Laxmi around five years ago had been to paddy threshing yard in the morning when the suicide took place. The deceased hung herself from the ceiling of the bathroom by a rope to commit suicide about which a relative informed her husband immediately.
While, Tukuna reached the spot and send a critically hurt Laxmi to Buguda Community Health Centre (CHC) for treatment, doctors declared her brought dead.
The couple has a four-year-old daughter out of the wedlock, informed family members.
The cause behind the extreme step of the woman is yet to be ascertained.
