As per reports, the incident occurred in Sriramnagar under Madhupatna police limits in Cuttack.
The body of the woman was reportedly found hanging from the ceiling of the house while her son was found dead in pool of blood, lying on the floor with slit throat.
The deceased woman has been identified as Shilpi Khuntia.
On being informed, Madhupatna Police along with a scientific team reached the spot and started an investigation into the matter.
