Acting on a tip-off, Purunakatak forest personnel and local police jointly conducted a raid at a house owned by one Abadhuta Thati in Gabapatinagar this morning.
During the search, the officials recovered as many as 40 logs of sal wood and 25 logs of teak wood from the house and seized those wood logs as Thati failed to show any authentic documents for possessing wood logs at his house.
The approximate cost of the seized wood logs will be around Rs 4 lakh, an official said.
The seized wood logs have been shifted to Purunakatak range office. A case has been registered against Thati for illegally possessing the precious wood logs at his house. Further investigation underway, he added.
