The IMD has issued yellow warning of heavy rainfall to six districts- Malkangiri, Rayagada, Koraput, Gajapati, Ganjam and Puri. Rains will gradually increase on September 6 and 7. Southern Odisha is likely to witness wind blow between 40 and 50 kmph during the period.
Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the jungle as the weather in the sea will remain rough.
Odisha has recorded 30% less than normal rainfall by now. As many as 25 districts have experienced deficit rainfall. While Jajpur has recorded 55% less rainfall, Bhadrak 49% less rainfall, Bolangir 45% less rainfall, Jharsuguda and Angul have recorded 41% less rainfall each.
