Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro announced this after chairing an all-party meeting in the Assembly premises here at 11 am. He too said that the entire Winter Session would be held amid Covid-19 guidelines.
At the all-party meeting, the Speaker sought cooperation of all members belonging to the Opposition BJP and the Congress and ruling BJD for smooth functioning of the House amid Covid-19 precautions.
It may be noted that Covid test (RT-PCR) on MLAs, their drivers and Personal Security Officers, Assembly staffs and all those who will enter Assembly premises, including mediapersons, during the session has started since Tuesday. The Covid test drive will continue for three days till November 19. Only those who will test negative for the virus would be allowed entry to the Assembly premises.
All MLA seats in the main Assembly chamber have been arranged in such a way that the 2-metre social distancing can be maintained among members. All seats have been barricaded with glass panels for protection of MLAs. Visitors’ gallery has also been arranged for sitting of some MLAs.
