Bhubaneswar, Apr 28: In a landmark event, the Army and Commissionerate Police came together for a high-level coordination meeting in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, to discuss strategies for strengthening national security.

This marks the first time the two departments have collaborated at such a level, emphasizing the importance of unified efforts in safeguarding the nation.

The meeting, held under high alert conditions, was attended by senior officials, including Commissioner of Police Suresh Dev Datta Singh and Army Officer Nihar Kumar.

Discussions focused on the operational methodologies of both departments, with the Army sharing insights into its working style and the Commissionerate Police presenting its model and approach to law enforcement.

Singh highlighted the significance of the collaboration, stating that the meeting aimed to foster better coordination between the two departments. He emphasised that the focus remains solely on national security, with no discussions on past disputes, such as the Bharatpur incident from six months ago.

Army Officer Nihar Kumar expressed optimism about the meeting's outcomes, noting that it would pave the way for effective joint operations and enhance the safety of citizens. He described the meeting as a step toward building a robust framework for collaboration between the Army and state police.
