Jharsuguda, Sep 7: Tension gripped the Railway Colony in Jharsuguda after unidentified miscreants opened fire at the residence of railway employee Dasharath Suna around 2 AM.

A total of six rounds were fired, with the first three bullets piercing the iron door and damaging a cooler inside the house. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as the family was asleep during the attack.

The remaining three rounds were fired into the air before the attackers fled the scene. Preliminary investigation suggests the shooting was a retaliatory act following a clash between two groups during Ganesh Puja immersion the previous evening.

Upon receiving the report, Railway Police reached the spot and recovered six empty cartridges. On Sunday morning, Jharsuguda SP, SDPO, and Town Police joined the investigation and launched raids at multiple locations to apprehend the culprits.
