Bhubaneswar, Aug 19: A late-night incident in Bhubaneswar’s Chandrasekharpur area has stirred public concern after an intoxicated young woman created high drama outside a liquor shop, disrupting traffic and alarming passersby.

The episode unfolded near a petrol pump, where the woman reportedly lay on the road, hurled abuses, and misbehaved with pedestrians and police personnel.

According to eyewitnesses, the woman, believed to be under the influence of alcohol, began shouting and behaving erratically near a liquor counter. Her actions escalated when she verbally abused police officers, including members of the PCR team, who arrived to calm the situation. Despite repeated attempts to pacify her, she continued her disruptive behaviour for nearly two hours.

The woman’s conduct drew a crowd and caused traffic congestion in the area. Eventually, police lifted her from the road and escorted her to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation. She was later fined and released.

Sources reveal that the same woman had previously been jailed eight months ago for allegedly attacking a female police officer.
