Bhubaneswar, Oct 13: The official notification for the Nuapada Assembly by-election is set to be issued on Monday, marking the formal commencement of the nomination process.

Candidates can file their nominations until October 20, followed by scrutiny on October 22 and withdrawal of nominations by October 24.

This bypoll has gained significant political attention, especially after a major development within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Jay Dholakia, son of late MLA Rajendra Dholakia, has joined the ruling party, delivering a notable blow to the opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) just as the nomination window opens.
