Bhubaneswar, Oct 7: The impact of a trough line has brought cloudy skies and light rainfall across various parts of Odisha. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for 20 districts, forecasting light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning over the next 24 hours.

Wind speeds are expected to range between 30 to 40 km/h, adding to the unstable weather conditions. The warning covers districts in western, interior, and coastal Odisha, with alerts in place until October 11. After that, rainfall activity is expected to gradually decrease.

The IMD has advised residents to remain cautious, especially in areas prone to lightning strikes and gusty winds. Emergency services have been put on alert, and local administrations have been asked to monitor the situation closely.

Adding to the weather concerns, another cyclonic circulation is likely to form around October 9, which could further influence rainfall patterns in the region.

The yellow warning indicates a need for preparedness but does not suggest severe disruption.
