Bhadrak, Apr 18: Bhadrak police conducted a late-night operation, intercepting two pickup vans illegally transporting cattle and rescuing 28 cows.

A special team, led by the Bhadrak City DSP, conducted a raid and seized a pickup vehicle carrying cattle. During the operation, officers pursued a pickup truck moving from Tihidi to Gujidarada. In a desperate attempt to escape, the vehicle overturned, leading to the rescue of eight cows.

Meanwhile,police stopped another pickup van near Mirzapur, under Old Bazaar police station, recovering 20 more cows.

Authorities have detained three suspects, and an investigation is underway to determine further links in the illegal transport network. The operation is part of an ongoing effort to curb such activities in the region.
