Puri, July 16: The Jagannath Sena, a social outfit working in the interest of Shree Jagannath Temple, Tuesday lodged an FIR at the Singhadwar police station seeking an investigation into the alleged missing keys of the Ratna Bhandar.

The Jagannath Sene expressed concern that keys, as claimed to be duplicate ones to the locks of Inner Ratna Bhandar, did not work at the time of opening of the treasure trove on July 14.

'In 2018, the then Puri district Collector said Ratna Bhandar's keys were lost but duplicate keys were available. But the duplicate keys didn't work when the Inner Ratna Bhandar was opened on July 14. From this, it is understood that the then district Collector had lied to Jagannath lovers. It indicates a conspiracy hatched then, which must be investigated," said the Jagannath Sena.

The Sena has particularly wanted to know why one of the three locks of the Inner Ratna Bhandar was found sealed and two others were found unsealed.

Besides, the Sena has also demanded an investigation into the Rs 2000-crore irregularities alleged during the Nabakalebar.

Meanwhile, politics over the missing keys issue took new directions as Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan said the available keys were not original. He said an investigation would be done into the Incident

The Main Badagrahi of Lord Jagannath smelt a rat in the key missing incident and sought an early investigation.

According to information, the Ratna Bhandar had gold ornaments weighing 4364 tola (One Tola is equal to 11.664 gm) and 231 varieties of silver ornaments weighing 14, 878 Tola as per last inventory.
