Bhubaneswar, Aug 29: With the second season of 'Swaad Odisha' -- the state's first ever cooking reality show -- arriving at its business end, the viewers are expected to witness the rich culinary traditions of the state having a touch of modernity and creativity.

The cooking reality show has reached its highly anticipated semifinal round. The second season of the show is dedicated to highlighting authentic Odia cuisine, offering viewers a unique glimpse into the diverse flavors and techniques that define the region's culinary identity.

Hosted by one of the talented Chefs in the country -- Chef Smrutishree, 'Swaad Odisha' has become a platform for the passionate home cooks from across the state to showcase their skills and creativity.

The show, sponsored by Milky Moo and broadcasted by the 'Argus News', has successfully captured the essence of Odisha’s culinary heritage while embracing a variety of other traditional cuisines, including Gujarati, Punjabi and Assamese as well as international favorites like Mexican.

The recently-concluded quarterfinal round added an exciting twist, with the contestants competing in pairs. The participating pairs were Manju & Prajna, Amrita & Guru, Monalisha & Abhisankha, and Ankita & Jayanti.

After a series of intense challenges, four contestants Jayanti, Ankita, Guru, and Amrita advanced to the penultimate stage of the competition. Notably, Ankita & Jayanti were recognized for their exceptional performance, while their dish earned the title -- "Dish of the Day."

As 'Swaad Odisha' moves into the semifinals, the competition is expected to get fiercer, with the contestants pushing their culinary boundaries to take their skills to a new height, while giving the dishes a new dimension.
