Bhubaneswar, Aug 30: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday called on Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at his official residence in Bhubaneswar for a courtesy meeting that turned into a substantive dialogue on the future of education in the state.

In a post on X, Pradhan stated, “Had a courteous meeting with Odisha’s Chief Minister @MohanMOdisha and discussed various matters related to the School, Mass Education, and Higher Education Department in Odisha.”

CM Majhi echoed the sentiment, highlighting discussions on the New Education Policy, infrastructure reforms, and strategic steps to uplift Odisha’s educational landscape.

The meeting was attended by key officials including School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, Principal Secretary Saswat Mishra, Secretary Shalini Pandit, and OSEPA State Project Director Ananya Das. The leaders deliberated on enhancing school infrastructure, implementing NEP guidelines, and bridging gaps in higher education access across rural and tribal regions.

The meeting also triggered speculation about a possible cabinet reshuffle. However, party insiders dismissed the buzz, reaffirming the focus remained on educational development.

This high-level engagement signals a renewed commitment to transforming Odisha’s education system, aligning it with national priorities while addressing local challenges.
