Berhampur, Nov 17: A veterinary technician was found dead under mysterious circumstances near his hospital in Kanchur area under Hinjili block of Ganjam district on Thursday. 

The deceased has been identified as Pramod Mahakuda. He was staying alone in his quarters and his family members including wife and daughter were staying in Koraput district.  

From preliminary investigation, police stated that he died due to cardiac arrest. However, his family members have repudiated it and suspected it to be a murder.

According to information, injury marks were found on his head, eyelashes and knee. While police was sending the body for post-mortem his brother-in-law arrived and protested, demanding in-depth investigation into the matter. 

"We doubt foul play behind his death, as there were injury marks on various parts of his body. After receiving information from local people, we came from Koraput district and found father sleeping in a room which was locked from inside", said Priyanka, the deceased's daughter.
