Jharsuguda, Oct 3: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan addressed a conference organized by the Jharsuguda Chamber of Commerce on Friday, highlighting the transformative impact of NextGen GST reforms and India’s emergence as a global economic powerhouse.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Pradhan said the GST Bachat Utsav has created a wave of enthusiasm across the country. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for steering India through global challenges and positioning it as the fastest-growing major economy.
Inclusive Growth and Digital Transformation
Pradhan emphasized that over 25 crore people have risen above the poverty line due to welfare schemes, and India now witnesses 64 crore UPI transactions daily. He also noted that India has developed the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem, reflecting the country’s dynamic economic landscape.

Under the GST Bachat Utsav, essential items like pulses, rice, children’s books, and stationery have become more accessible, showcasing the government’s commitment to public welfare.
Pradhan concluded by thanking Prime Minister Modi for prioritizing citizens’ concerns and accelerating India’s journey toward becoming a prosperous and developed nation.
The conference also featured discussions on local business growth, digital tax compliance, and the role of GST in empowering small and medium enterprises in Odisha.
