Bhubaneswar, Nov 25: The Odisha government on Tuesday approved 20 major projects with a combined investment of Rs 4,353 crore, expected to generate 7,815 jobs across 11 districts, an official said.
The approvals were approved at the State Level Single Window
Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja,
the official added.
These projects span sectors including chemicals,
electronics, aluminium, tourism, infrastructure, IT services, power and
renewable energy, and food processing, highlighting Odisha’s commitment to
broad-based industrial growth. Key districts benefiting from these investments
are Angul, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Khurda,
Koraput, Puri, Sambalpur, and Sundergarh.

The official noted that these approvals demonstrate the
state government’s proactive stance in attracting quality investments and
facilitating industry setup efficiently. The dispersion of projects across
multiple districts ensures regionally balanced development while unlocking
fresh employment opportunities for Odisha’s youth.
Noteworthy among the approved projects is NTPC-SAIL Power
Company Limited’s floating solar unit in Sundergarh, invested at Rs 710.27
crore, and Rashmi Metallurgical Industry Private Limited’s Rs 600-crore iron
ore beneficiation plant in Keonjhar, underlining the focus on renewable energy
and mineral beneficiation.
The projects are projected to enhance regional industrial infrastructure, supporting Odisha’s vision of sustainable economic growth and generating thousands of jobs, crucial for the state’s expanding workforce.
