Heavy Downpour Expected In Odisha On Dec 5 Due To Cyclone 'Michaung'

Bhubaneswar, Dec 4: The cyclonic storm 'Michaung' is likely to make landfall between Nellore and Machilipatnam sometime before tomorrow noon. The wind speed at this time is expected to be in the range of 90 to 100kmph.
As per an IMD release, the deep depression over the southwest Bay of Bengal will intensify into a cyclonic storm during the next 12 hours and reach the west-central Bay of Bengal off south Andhra Pradesh and adjoining north Tamil Nadu coasts by December 4 forenoon.

The storm is currently in 210 kms from Puducherry and 150 kms away from Chennai. The storm is expected to intensify over the Bay of Bengal and is pacing at a speed of 8 kmph now. As a result heavy to heavy rainfall might occur in various part of the country in the southern regions surrounding the Bay of Bengal.
