Berhampur, Apr 6: In a gruesome act, a man was reported hacked to death in sleep at Pandia Padar Sahi under the Purushottampur police station limits in Ganjam district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Murali Badatya.
According to the informaiton, Murlali was sleeping in his house while his father was asleep on the verandah yesterday night. After a few hours when his father went inside the house to drink a glass of water, he found Murali in a pool of blood. He soon rushed Murali to the government hospital at Hinjili. But as luck would have it, doctors declared Murali dead there.
Acting on a complaint, the Purushottampur police reached the spot and started an investigation.
