Angul, Nov 10: The ongoing nationwide protest by women against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his reported derogatory remarks on women had its mark in Odisha's Angul today.
The Angul District unit of the BJP Mahila Morcha staged a protest near Raja Chhak and burnt an effigy of Nitish Kumar.
The agitation was organized under the leadership of Basant Manjari Pradhan, District President of the Angul Mahila Morcha.
The women demanded the immediate resignation of Nitish Kumar as Chief Minister and exemplary action against him. Joining the protest, BJP district president Dileshwar Pradhan said that such rude comments of a chief minister of a state against women are an insult to the entire women's society. He said that he has no right to hold the office of the chief minister even for a minute on moral grounds.

Mahila Morcha district President Basant Manjari Pradhan, senior leader Phillip Pradhan, State executive member Sanghamitra Pradhan, Party's State social media coordinator Suchismita Tripathi, district general secretary Shobhagini Pradhan, district vice-president Itishree Senapati, treasurer Aparna Sahu, Councilor Prangya Das, Madhavi Mohapatra, Pankajini Panda, Kalpana Dal Behera, Tilotama Samantha, Basanti Sahu, Namitha Sahu and Nasreen Begum participated in the event.
