Bhubaneswar, Jan 5: A list of the worst rated foods in the world just had one india dish- Aloo Baingan (potatoes and eggplant). The list released by TasteAtlas on 100 Worst Rated Foods in the World, saw Aloo Baingan get a rating of 2.7 stars and ranked at the 60th position.

TasteAtlas, an online guide described the aloo baingan as "simple and flavorful."

Aloo baingan is a dish made with a combination of eggplants and potatoes, cooked together with onions, tomatoes, and various spices.

The name of the dish specifies its key ingredients, since aloo means potatoes, and baingan means eggplant. Basically, it is a type of sabzi (dry curry) that is usually served with flatbreads such as roti and naan. Aloo baingan is a popular Indian lunch item that is commonly packed in lunchboxes throughout Northern India.

Let's agree, we share a love-and-hate relationship with baingan, and that is majorly because of our personal food preferences. But claiming it to be one of the worst foods in the world could be a bit of exaggeration, feels the desi foodies.

A person wrote, "I would prefer it over many dishes I have eaten (if made correctly, of course). A comment read, "Banane nehi aata hoga unhe (Maybe they can't make it properly)." A third person wrote, "Those who voted, haven't had the actial aloo baingan. It's one of my favourites."
