Bhubaneswar, Feb 14: Vasant Panchami, also known as Saraswati Puja is an auspicious Hindu festival celebrated across various regions of India. 

On this auspicious day, people worship Goddess Saraswati. Hindus celebrate Vasant Panchami and honour Goddess Saraswati, the Goddess of arts, music, wisdom, and knowledge. 

Falling on the fifth day (Panchami) of the bright half (Shukla Paksha) of the Hindu calendar month of Magha, typically in late January or early February, Vasant Panchami marks the arrival of the spring season. 

This occasion holds significant cultural, religious, and social importance, bringing together communities to honour the arrival of spring and seek blessings for knowledge and creativity. 

Saraswati Puja or Vasant Panchami is time for cultural events, with recitations of shlokas, mantras, hymns, saraswati vandana. Various cultural events are held at educational institues and schools. Students take part in these events and seek the blessings of Goddess Saraswati to get success.
