Bhubaneswar, Jan 31: Mayank Agarwal, the Karnataka captain, has been admitted to a hospital in Agartala after falling sick on a flight.

The cricket fraternity was in shock during the evening hours of Tuesday as Mayank Agarwal, the currently-sidelined India opener and Karnataka captain, was rushed to hospital after falling ill just before his New Delhi-bound flight was about to take off.

Agarwal, who was leaving for Delhi from the capital city of Tripura along with the Karnataka team on Tuesday (January 30), consumed a beverage onboard the flight following which he complained of uneasiness and a burning sensation in his throat, and started vomiting. 
He was deboarded and rushed to the hospital immediately.

Raghuram Bhat, the KSCA president, told Cricbuzz that Mayank is out of danger and will ideally be discharged from the hospital today.
 He's expected to fly back to Bengaluru and consult the local doctors before deciding on his further course of action. 
KSCA is confident that he will be back on the field soon.
