New Delhi, Mar 2: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday announced its first list of 195 Lok Sabha candidates for the ensuing general elections. The list figures names of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Home Minister Amit Shah.
The list shows names of 34 Ministers and two former Chief Ministers.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will fight the elections from the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat for the second consecutive time. Amit Shah will fight the polls from Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat.

✨There are 47 candidates aged below 50 years on the list, while 28 of the 195 candidates are women. The list includes 27 SC, 18 ST, and 57 OBC candidates. The named candidates belong to 16 States and two Union Territories.

The highest number of 51 candidates have been named from Uttar Pradesh, followed by West Bengal (26), Madhya Pradesh (24), Gujarat (15), Rajasthan (15), Kerala (12), Assam, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh (11 each), Telangana (9), Delhi (5), Uttarakhand (3), Jammu and Kashmir (2), Arunachal Pradesh (2) and Goa, Tripura and Andaman and Daman & Dew (1 each)
