Chhattisgarh, Nov 3: Ahead of the Chhattisgarh elections, Maoists have terrorised residents of Kanker district. The naxalites murdered three commoners, suspecting them to be police informers of Murkhendi Gram Panchayat under Chotabethia police station of Kanker district. 

According to information, four days ago the terrorists had kidnapped three locals. The dead bodies of the kidnapped people were found on the outskirts of the village yesterday. 

It is to be noted that Prime Minister arrived in Kanker for election propaganda yesterday. Such an incident has raised questions on the police's departments functioning. 

The district is 60 km away from Chattisgarh-Odisha border. 

Police has registered a case and investigation is underway.
