Argus News - MP CM Assures Installation Of Surendra Sai's Full-Size Statue At Asirgarh Fort: Dharmendra Pradhan

Bhubaneswar, Jan 29: The Madhya Pradesh government will take appropriate steps for the installation of a life-size statue of eminent freedom fighter Veer Surendra Sai at Asirgarh Fort in Burhanpur district. For this, experts will be consulted and a well-thought plan will be prepared soon.   

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav assured this to Union Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Dharmendra Pradhan while responding to his letter sent on January 18. 

Chief Minister Yadav mentioned in the letter that it would be Madhya Pradesh people's true tributes to the country's eminent freedom fighter Veer Surendra Sai, who laid his life for the country if a statue is installed on experts' advice. 

In his letter, Pradhan had sought CM Dr Mohan Yadav's intervention in this regard. He had mentioned that Veer Surendra Sai and other freedom fighters, who led the freedom struggle from Sambalpur had links with Asirgarh Fort. 

Sai and his associates participated in the freedom movement in 1857 and sacrificed their lives for the country. 
On the occasion of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is paying special attention to honoring and paying tributes to the heroic deeds and bravery of tribal fighters who have not been mentioned in history. Veer Surendra Sai spent his last life in Asirgarh Fort. Keeping this in mind, the Union Minister, on behalf of the people of Odisha, requested CM Yadav to build a monument reflecting the heroism of Surendra Sai and his associates in Asirgarh Fort. 

After receiving a reply, Pradhan thanked the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister for showing interest in taking the initial steps.
