Bhubaneswar, Nov 18: Negligence meted out to Odisha and Odias ended with the formation of the Narendra Modi Government in 2014. Since Modi came to power at the Centre not only funds started flowing to Odisha but also Odia talents were identified and given due value in all sectors- let it be the Union Ministry or top positions of different Constituional Wings of the country. Really, the happiness of Odias knew no bounds and each of them felt proud when Odia daughter Droupadi Murmu held the top constitutional post of the country i.e. President of India last year. 

In his tweet, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan rightly noted that President of India Draupadi Murmu, and CAG of India, Girish Chandra Murmu are unique symbols of our Odia pride and self-respect.

He too shared a picture of President Murmu felicitating CAG Murmu on the occasion of the 'Third Audit Diwas' held in Delhi recently. 

Pradhan said each Odia feels proud of President of India, Droupadi Murmu and CAG of India, Girish Chandra Murmu. They epitomize big respect for our democracy, tribals and the distressed people, noted Pradhan. 

During the last nine years of Modi government, Pradhan has been serving the country as a Union Minister holding very important portfolios. As a Union Minister, his contributions to Odisha are also immeasurable.  

Besides Pradhan, Sundargarh MP Jual Oram was also included as a Cabinet Minister in the first term of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the second term, two other Odias Balasore MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Mayurbhanj MP Bishwesar Tudu were made Ministers. Tudu is still continued as a Minister of State for Tribal Affairs. 

Among other Odias, Pramod Kumar Mishra is currently serving as the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister of Odia and Saktikant Das is successfully serving as the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. Satya Narayan Pradhan is heading the Narcotics Control Bureau. 

Similarly, Dr Mrutyunjay Mohapatra has excelled in discharging his responsibility as Director General, the India Meteorological Department and Chittaranjan Tripathy has recently been appointed the Chairman of the National School of Drama (NSD). 

In civil sectors too, Odia talents have been identified and given due respect and honour during the Narendra Modi governemnt.
