Argus News - Pradhan's Visionary Discourse At IIM Jammu Ignites Young Minds For Viksit Bharat

Jammu, Dec 28: The Indian Institute of Management Jammu (IIM) Jammu hosted Union Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for a momentous visit that included a comprehensive review of ongoing construction activities. 

This visit not only underscored the institute's steadfast commitment to academic excellence and innovation but also aligned seamlessly with the broader goals of national progress under the visionary initiative, “Viksit Bharat”. 

The event was presided over by Padmashri Dr. Milind. P. Kamble, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIM Jammu. Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Academics, and Cmdr Kesavan Baskkaran, Chief Administrative Officer graced the occasion. Education Ministry officials and IIM faculty, officers, staff and students gathered. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan planted a Rudraksha sapling, symbolizing growth and prosperity, in the permanent campus during the visit and inaugurated the event by lighting a lamp.

Pradhan interacted with students and held an in-depth discussion on ViksitBharat@2047, which is aimed at shaping the educational and skill development landscape in India by the year 2047.

While answering questions from the students, the Union Minister mentioned the quality education initiatives that the Government is planning and implementing to ensure equal access to education as a part of the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020.  He also emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) in the holistic development of mankind.

This pivotal interaction at IIM Jammu served as a platform for collaboration, innovation, and the co-creation of educational pathways that resonate with the evolving needs of the nation, propelling it toward a brighter and more prosperous future. The event culminated with the national anthem with a sense of pride and patriotism.
