Haridwar, Nov 22: A day after the Supreme Court cautioned Patanjali Ayurveda against airing 'false' and 'misleading' advertisements, yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Wednesday defended the Patanjali Ayurveda and said that the company has not engaged in any false propaganda.

"We humbly respect the Supreme Court of India and if we make false advertisements or propaganda, we would not have any objections if the apex court imposes a fine of crores or even gives us a death sentence," Baba Ramdev said in a release.

“In yoga, Ayurveda, and naturopathy, with integrated and evidence-based treatment systems, we cure diseases like type 1 diabetes, thyroid issues, high blood pressure, normalising sugar levels, obesity, and others. This is not false; this is true,” Baba Ramdev claimed.

"Hundreds of therapies of Yoga, Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Panchakarma, Shatkarma, fasting and with the integrated treatment of system, we have made thousands of people free from several diseases like BP, sugar, thyroid, asthma, arthritis, obesity, liver and kidney failure, and cancer. We have a database with more than one crore people, with real world evidence, preclinical and clinical evidence," he added.

Baba Ramdev, the co-founder of Patanjali Ayurveda, said, "A group of doctors is propagating against yoga, Ayurveda, naturopathy, and our Sanatana values. The false propaganda claims that there is no solution in the synthetic world for diseases like blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, arthritis, liver disease, kidney failure, etc."

"We always respect the good doctors in medical science and those who provide life-saving drugs, emergency treatment and necessary surgeries, and we respect them even today and keep on doing so. Also, the advanced treatment from Allopathy which we have received from Maharishi Charak, Maharishi Sushruta and Maharishi Dhanvantari of Vedas and Ayurveda, Patanjali, we are taking it forward scientifically and authentically, not for the sake of business, but in the spirit of treatment and beneficence and will continue to do so," Baba Ramdev noted.

Ramdev also urged the authorities to take action against those who "propagate false propaganda".

“For the last five years, people have been running false propaganda against yoga, naturopathy, Ayurveda, and our centuries-long medicinal traditions,” he said.

Baba Ramdev also claimed that Patanjali has conducted over 500 research studies, incorporating real-world evidence, scientific findings, pre and post-clinical reports, clinical trials, and protocols. He added that these reports are publicly available online.
