Bhubaneswar, Jan 30: Union Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday welcomed the nomination of eminent educationist and  social worker, Satnam Singh Sandhu to the Rajya Sabha and said the Upper House of Parliament will be enriched by his presence. 

Taking to his social media handle, Minister Pradhan also expressed his gratitude to President Droupadi Murmu  and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for constantly honouring citizens who have made significant contributions to national development.

President Droupadi Murmu today nominated Chandigarh University founder-chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu to the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.

In a notification, the Home Ministry said President Droupadi Murmu nominated Sandhu to the Upper House of Parliament.

Satnam Singh Sandhu, the son of a farmer, is one of India's leading educationists in the present day. He is an edupreneur, philanthropist, and the founder and Chancellor of Chandigarh University.`
