15 Days On, Tikiri Deceased Laxmi Majhi Still Awaits Justice

Rayagada, Jan 4: Even as 15 days have passed since the half-burnt body of Laxmi Majhi, a handicapped tribal woman, was found on the Chandrapur Hospital premises, the Crime Branch probing the incident is still clueless, much to the dismay of family members and people of the State at large.
Meanwhile, the disgusted family has demanded a CBI investigation into the incident and justice for their daughter Laxmi at the earliest.
It may be noted family members alleged that Laxmi was raped, murdered and then set ablaze before she was dumped near a dispensary a day before the body was recovered in the half-burnt condition.

Slow in investigation has triggered resentment among the locals.
"Is the BJD government trying to cover up some foul play? Ironically, the tribal girl has not gotten justice even though Tribal Affairs & Law Minister Jagannath Sarka belongs to Rayagada district. This sends out a clear indication that the government is trying to protect culprits," alleged some locals.
