Bhubaneswar, Jan 25: The Union Home Ministry selected 26 personnel from the Odisha Police and allied services for prestigious medals to be conferred on the occasion of Republic Day 2026, recognising acts of gallantry, distinguished service and meritorious contribution.
According to the official list released by the ministry, the awardees from Odisha include 17 personnel from the Police Service, four from the Fire Service, three from the Home Guard and Civil Defence, and two from the Correctional Service.
National Recognition
Across the country, 982 personnel have been chosen for Republic Day honours this year. These include 125 recipients of the Medal for Gallantry (GM), 101 awardees of the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM), and 756 recipients of the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM).
