Dhenkanal, Feb 13: Three persons were killed and three students were critically injured in three separate road accidents in Dhenkanal district today.

Two fatal accidents occurred in the Kantabania police station area. 

While two bikers were killed after being hit by a trailer truck, another biker died after being run over by a tipper at two separate places. Two of the three deceased persons were identified as Chittaranjan Sahu and Ashish Samal. 

Tension prevailed in the incident sites following the accidents. 

The third accident occurred at Bhagha Dian canal under Mahabirod police station in the Kamakshyanagar area where three school students were injured. The injured students belong to Bana Durga Anchalika High School and are studying in Class IX, said police.

The students were going on a motorcycle to Gadapalasuni when they met with the accident. They have been admitted to the Sub Divisional Hospital, Kamakshyanagar.
