Jagatsinghpur, Nov 12: Four persons were miraculously escapes as a cracker-making unit, where they had slept, caught fire and an explosion occurred at Nuagada near Paradip in Cuttack district late on Saturday night. 

However, crackers worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed in the incident.  

According to the information, crackers were kept in stock in the house and four persons were sleeping in the house. Due to some reason, fire erupted and crackers started exploding. Hearing the sound of cracker blasting, the four people woke up and ran for safety. 

The exact reason behind the spread of the fire is yet to be known. 

On being informed, fire personnel rushed to the spot and doused the fire.
