Mayurbhanj, Mar 12: In a tragic mishap, a 60-year-old man was killed as a truck hit his motorbike at Katarachhak under Bangiriposi police station limits in Mayurbhanj district this evening. 

The deceased has been identified as Bipin Sahu (60), a resident of Goshanaipal village. 

According to the information, Sahu was returning home from his work in the evening. When he was passing the diversion near Katarachhak, an iron-laden truck hit him. As a result, he sustained critical injuries. Later, he was declared dead in a hospital. 

Tension ran high at the incident site as locals blocked the road and demanded early completion of the ongoing road work. They too demanded adequate compensation for the deceased's family.
